“Curvy women are real women. Skinny women are real women. Women who have had boob jobs or lip enhancements or liposuction are still real women. Size 0 may make no sense mathematically, but a woman who wears that size is as real as the one who wears a size 16. What makes us “real” people is not the shape of our flesh but our basic humanity. And we lose our humanity when we judge – not when we lose weight, gain weight, or make the intensely personal decision to undergo cosmetic surgery.”—Hugo Schwyzer (via lana-michelle)
I’m not a fan of the prints (am I the only one to find them really garish? Maybe it’s just me being ignorant about prints and textiles lol), which probably explains why I was more inclined to the Menswear line. In any case, when the collection hits Singapore, my shopping strategy will be:
1. Head to the shoes section like a bull on rampage to grab the cut out sandals (OMG I’M HYPERVENTILATING AS I TYPE THIS BECAUSE THE SANDALS ARE BEYOND GORGEOUS). It costs 119SGD, and I’m more inclined to the black one ( lol very predictable I know)
2. Rush to grab this shirt and this one in the smallest size available. The light blue shirt with the contrast collar is 99.90SGD and the contrast navy-beige one is 159SGD.
3. Take a deep breath of air while queuing for the changing room (And guard thy possessions carefully- by possessions I mean my selected items in case some mad person tries to wring them from my sumo-strength grasp hahaha)
4. Evaluate damage and carefully curate selection to fit budget. Expected damage: 377.90SGD *faints*
The collection will debut in Singapore on 8 March 2012, so mark your calendars! I was not particularly excited by the last Versace collaboration but I’m pretty geared up for this one. For a complete price list, see here.
